Silence held the floor as we digested what we’d heard. Roy stroked his beard–looked around, smiled, “Well, thank-you Tim, that was epic, and memorable quotes galore.”
“I understand why Mr. Hamas Guy would do this. I see how he’s thinking. “ said your man. What’s more, he tells us he completely understands, “…how a human being living for hating Israel, not having much else to live for, might be driven to do things like this, and to me that’s different, as revolting as it is.” … Gene, what does ‘complete’ mean?”
“Complete” Gene said, “adjective: having all necessary parts, elements, or steps.”
Roy nodded. “all necessary parts, elements, or steps. It seems to me Mr. Professor Guy is missing some parts, elements, and steps on his racist tour bus to Palestine. The engine for example, the starter key, fuel tank, tires, linkage, windshield…”
“I understand why Mr. Hamas Guy would do this. I see how he’s thinking. “
“If that’s true, I’d like to hear him expound on how he sees what the original Mr. Hamas Guy, co-founder Abel Aziz al-Rantisi, was thinking at 6-months old when Zionist Israelis drove his family off their land, and into Gaza. What was al-Rantisi thinking when the Israeli military murdered his uncle in front of him during the Khan Younis Massacre in 1956. He was nine-years-old. Your other man, Glenn Loury, was eight-years-old in 1956. I wonder if Glenn, having spent his childhood in a concentration camp, having watched the Israelis murder his uncle and his neighbors, would say Israel is an embodiment of “enlightenment inspired developement of a liberal political order?”
“I’ll contend Dr. al-Rantisi aka ‘The Lion of Palestine’ had a great deal to live for. He was a pediatrician, educated at Alexandria University, he became Head of Pediatrics at Nasir Hospital. He was married, had six children, and in addition to his practice, lectured in genetics. His bona fides stand head and shoulders above your Ivy League men. The more so if we include his chops earned in prison.”
“What did he go to prison for?”
“First time was in 1983 the Israeli occupation troops removed him from his hospital for organizing a campaign against paying taxes to the occupation. In 1987 he and six other men started Hamas at the beginning of Israel’s ‘Bone Breaking Intifada’. He was arrested multiple times and spent years in Israeli prisons. He was also arrested numerous times by the Palestinian Authority after condemning them for corruption and being tools of Israel. In 1992 he was one of four hundred Palestinians kidnapped by Israel, blindfolded, tied up and left on a hill side in Lebanon in the rain. Being fluent in English he spoke to reporters covering the conflict. Israel tried multiple times to assassinate him. Eventually they did kill him, his son, and a body guard on April 17, 2004 with a hellfire missile fired from an American Apache attack helicopter. The Israelis assassinated his widow Jamila (who held a PhD in English) in October 2023.”
“Killing al-Rantisi was another ‘own goal’ for Israel. His assassination opened the door for Hamas members in Lebanon/Syria to form strong ties with Hezbollah and Iran. Israel never learns. Dunning-Kreuger rides again.”
“What’s more, it seems to me your learned professor Loury has not done his math homework on terrorism.”
“Which is what?”
“Which is a word problem. “If you have ten terrorists and you kill two of them, how many terrorists are left? Answer = 20. Meaning every Hamas fighter has seen family and friends killed and wounded by Israel. Every child in Gaza has shell-shock. They’ve had their food, water, medicine and power cut off, they’ve been bombed, seen houses and buildings destroyed. Gone to too many funerals. All before October 7. Everything the Palestinians have ever done towads a peace process has gone nowhere. So, yeah, under occupation, 10-2=20.*
“Oh, Oh. Roy’s thinking.”
“I am,” Roy said. “Mr. Professor Guy threw down the gauntlet at minute 5ish when he sneered and said, anybody who thinks Hamas fighters are freedom fighters should be ashamed, “…unless they’re ready to defend themselves very carefully.”
“We can’t know if he feels shame. But at the end of his life, will he be ready to defend himself before the eyes of the children of Gaza? Rather than wait years until he dips a toe in the blood of humanity, at which point Mr. Professor Guy will no doubt back away complaining he was lied to, as he said he was lied to regarding George Floyd, the Iraq War, Colin Powell, the media, and so on, let ‘s help him out. And the other Professor Guy, too.
Since they’re college professors, I propose we give them a college course in the Palestinian genocide. Genocide 101. The Palestinian Genocide Curriculum. Jake used to be a teacher. He can help us put it together.
Tony raised his hand. “I’m in. I’ll do it for Moaiad.”
At that every hand went up. “For Moaiad!”
“All right, then. People are dying over there. Let’s get it done.”
“One more thing, Roy.” Tim said. The WAZ Award.”
“Right!” Roy jumped up quickly for an old geezer and shouted to the room. “Yes! Right! Okay you utterly nauseating, revolting, intolerable, should be ashamed, fist-pumping, anti-Semitic, egg-breaking, rather primitive, Israel-haters: it’s time for a vote. For the coveted Woodshed Autonomous Zone’s Top Black Racists of 2023/2024, we have two nominees: men of renown from the hallowed halls of academia, John ‘Smoke Them Out’ McWhorter and ‘Glenocide’ Loury. They’re wealthy, they’re respected, they’re published, they’re famous…but…are they WAZ? I ask you! All in favor say Aye!”
“AYE!!!”
“The Aye’s have it unanimously! Professor Guys: Congratulations from all of us here in the woodshed of our great temperate rain forest. On behalf of tens of thousands of dead and dying children in Gaza who speak not to you but to the world and to history with an eloquence only achieved through unimaginable suffering; you are initiated into the Order and consecrated by the weight of damnation. Your WAZ Awards will be sent to you any day now by way of Rafah. May you find them in the rubble as you dig towards hell.
