1960: Evangelist Billy Graham goes to Israel, meets with terrorist PM Ben-Gurion. Christian/Zionist relationship climbs into the back seat of America’s Chevy Impala. Heavy petting begins.
January 20, 1960: John F. Kennedy sworn in as 35th President of the United States. Shortly after he learns Israel is trying to build a nuclear bomb. Non- proliferation is a goal of Kennedy’s. He will begin correspondence with Israel government to put the brakes on their nuclear ambitions.
June 1961 Psychiatrist Franz Fannon writes Wretched of the Earth the essential book on mindset of the colonized and the colonizer. The African National Congress, Irish Republican Army, Hamas, Castro and Che, the Ayatollahs…everyone reads Fannon.
1962 Iran and Israel build joint oil pipeline across Israel from Eliat in the Red Sea to Ashkelon refineries in the Mediterranean. Israel will eventually comandeer the pipeline for itself and refuse to pay royalties it owes to Iran. Case dragged through international courts for years until Swiss court decides in favor of Iran. Israel still refuses to pay.
July 5, 1962: Algeria wins war of Independence from French colonial occupation. This was a seminal victory not only for Algeria but for the whole global south that was still under occupation, including Palestine and South Africa. France had occupied Algeria since 1834 and had killed about 1/3 of all Algerians and committed all manner of war crimes in those first decades. During the 1954-1962 war, Israel supported the French with intelligence/training/arming of French/Jewish occupiers. US President John F. Kennedy had spoken out against the occupation and urged France to stop. Over a million Algerians estimated killed in the 1954-1962 war. After the war, about a million Europeans left Algeria. The Israelis learned nothing from the French debacle except brutality.
November 21, 1962: Robert Kennedy, JFK’s brother and US Attorney General, tries to make AIPAC (the Lobbying Wing of the American Zionist Council) register as foreign agents under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). He’s the only US AG to ever take this on. Story buried. Department of Justice caves.
May 23-August 1, 1963 US Foreign Relations Committee under Arkansas Senator William Fulbright holds hearings on Israeli influence networks in America. On August 12, Newsweek magazine said ‘one of the most effective networks of foreign influence’ as the United Jewish Appeal funneling tax free dollars through what Fulbright called “conduits” to the Jewish Agency’s American section (which was registered as a foreign agent) to mold public opinion in America. 1963: As Israel develops a nuclear weapons program at Dimona, President John F. Kennedy sends a series of letters to Israeli PM Ben Gurion and his successor Levi Eshkol insisting America have access to inspect Dimona and threatening Israel would lose American support if it developed nuclear weapons. Israel drags response out for most of 1963.
November 22, 1963: President John F. Kennedy assassinated in Dallas, Texas under circumstances that are questioned to this day. Purported lone gun man Lee Harvey Oswald widely believed to be a patsy. Two days after the assassination Oswald is shot dead by ‘Jack Ruby’ whose real name was Jacob Rubenstein. Abundant circumstantial evidence points towards Israel, including documents that have never been made public,
1964 Palestinian Liberation Organization forms as armed resistance to the ongoing Nakba.
June,12, 1964 Nelson Mandella sentenced to life in prison for armed resistance to South African apartheid regime. Mandella was head of the military wing of the the African National Congress, Umkhonto we Sizwe, Spear of the Nation . Since it was founded in 1912 the ANC had used mostly non-violent resistance like boycotts and strikes, but after South African police killed 69 protesters the ‘Sharpville Massacre’ in 1960 the regime outlawed the ANC and became increasingly brutal in putting down resistance. Mandella and the ANC were helped with weapons by Yassir Arafat and the Palestinian Liberation Army. He held them in high regard and his successful movement became a beacon for Palestinian resistance.
October, 06, 1965: John ‘Smoke Them Out’ McWhorter is born.
1965 Condeleezza Rice, age 11 moves to Denver, Colorado with her family. Their next door neighbors are–wait for it–the Netanyahus! (Benjamin Netanyahu’s parents). By remarkable coincidence, Rice will go on to become America’s Secretary of State and have much to do with slaughter in the Middle East.
June 1967, Six Day War: Israel invades Egypt in a sneak attack. Destroys Egypt’s air force while it’s still on the ground. Seizes Sinai Penninsula, Syria’s Golan Heights, expands territory in West Bank. Israel creates a mythology that the Arabs attacked them but the time signatures on those airstrikes say otherwise. “a million more Palestinians, including 250,000 refugees, fell under Israeli control.”
June 08, 1967 Notorious Israeli false flag attack on unarmed USS Liberty: Kills 34 sailors and marines.* The Jewish State tries to sink the most sophisticated US Naval spy ship in the world, in broad daylight, flat calm seas, unlimited visibility, in an hours-long attack with fighter jets, napalm, thousands of rounds, and 3 torpedo boats that fired multiple torpedos. This remains the most disgraceful cover-up in American Naval history. The Liberty’s captain and crew, Chief of Naval Operations in 1967 Admiral Thomas Moorer, Director of the CIA Richard Helms, Marine General Ray Davis and any honest people who read the case are clear the attack was deliberate. Moreover, there was an American intelligence plane flying over-unknown to Israel- that recorded an Israeli pilot identifying the Liberty as an American ship. He was told to hit it.The Sixth Fleet sent fighter jets to help the Liberty–those were ordered to return to their carriers by Lyndon Johnson. To this day 57-years later, Israel claims it was an accident. The Liberty had 5 foot tall letters painted on the ship to identify it, and it was flying the American flag. Israelis say they mistook the Liberty for a much smaller, completely unmistakable 1920’s Egyptian horse carrier,the El Quseir. As part of the America’s cover-up of the attack: The Liberty’s surviving crew members were threatened with “Court marshal, imprisonment, or worse.” if they ever spoke about the attack with anyone, including their families. [*On the internet, this attack is often called ‘The Liberty Incident’ to water down the impact. No people, it was a deliberate attempt to sink the ship and kill every man aboard.]
June, 1967 Against international law, Israel declares Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel.
July, 1967 UN General Assembly Resolution 2253 declares Israel’s annexation of Jerusalem is invalid. Israel closing Jerusalem meant loss of 200,000 Palestinian jobs.
1967 Israel seized the Golan Heights which under international law belongs to Syria. Israel will ultimately colonize with tens of thousands of Jewish colonists on dozens of settlements.
1967 Egypt demanded return of the Sinai. Israel refused. For the next few years U.S. told Israel they should give back the Sinai or there would be trouble from Egypt. Israel refused. This would come back to haunt them in 1973.
November 1967 United Nations Security Council Resolution 242 “Inadmissibility of the aquistion of Territory by war.” Requires withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict. (Israel ignores it).
1968 Glen Loury turns 20: A year after Israel tried to sink the USS Liberty, President Lyndon Johnson celebrates by supplying Israel with massive economic aid and the largest arms deal yet and supersonic F-4 Phantom jets.
June 5, 1968: Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy assassinated at the age of 42. Recall Kennedy as US AG in 1962 had been the only AG in US history to try forcing AIPAC to register as foreign agents under FARA. As with his brother President Kennedy’s assassination, Robert Kennedy’s assassination has raised questions since it happened. The story goes that he was shot by a Palestinian named Sirhan Sirhan. Sirhan says he was there with a gun but didn’t kill Kennedy, [which you’d expect] Kennedy’s children are divided on whether Sirhan acted alone or if there was a second gunman. The case for that being that supposedly 13 shots were fired and Sirhan only had an eight round clip, also that Kennedy was shot from behind, when Sirhan was in front of him. Also, Kennedy was directed at the last minute to walk through the hotel kitchen where he was shot as a short cut.
June 11, 1968 Captain William McGonagle awarded Congressional Medal of Honor in a secret ceremony at Washington Navy Yard by the Secretary of the Navy. [Part of the cover-up of Israel attacking the USS Liberty, in contravention of standard protocols where the President of the United States awards living Medal of Honor recipients their medal at ceremony in the White House. This is the only time in the history of the Congressional Medal of Honor the medal was awarded this way.]
1968 Jerusalem Program (of 1951, formerly Basel Program of 1897) stated goals:
1) Unity of the Jewish people and the centrality of Israel in Jewish life.
2) The in gathering of the Jewish people in the historic homeland, Eretz Israel, through aliyah from all countries;
3) The strengthening of the State of Israel which is based on the prophetic vision of justice and peace.
4) The preservation of the identity of the Jewish people through the fostering of the Jewish, Hebrew, and Zionist education and Jewish spiritual and cultural values;
5) The protection of Jewish rights everywhere.
1968: Iran signs Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty: Under Article 4 states have a right to some nuclear enrichment. Israel, which denies its widely known nuclear weapons program, refuses to sign. Israel’s nuclear weapons program would be revealed by Israeli nuclear technician Mordechai Vanunu in 1986.
1969 ‘Cairo Agreement’ in October. Egypt brokers deal where PLO assumes responsibility for 16 Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. The Agreement was declared null and void by the Lebanese Parliament on May 21, 1987
