08.15.2019 Israel bars democratic congresswomen from entering country CNN by Oren Liberman et al. Israel playing some game where first they say Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib won’t be allowed in the country, then they will, then they won’t. Actually, the women mostly want to go to occupied Palestine not Israel. But because of the blockade, siege, occupation they can’t get to Palestine except through Israel.
Israel tool, and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, who has taken over a million dollars from the Israel lobby and just last week led 41 democratic members of congress to Israel on the Israel lobby’s dime, is making funny noises about being offended.

08.16.2019 Ala Khader al-Hareimi: Israel-Palestinian Timeline on the ‘If Americans Knew’ website. 26-year-old al-Hareimi was involved in traffic crash with Israelis. Jewish occupation troops “fired many live rounds” at his car executing him. The Israelis claiming after that he was guilty of a terror attack. YNet News reports, “it remains unclear whete4rh the incident was a deliberate attack, or a traffic accident.”

08.16.2019 Rashida Tlaib cancels West Bank visit, citing Israel’s oppressive conditions Haaretz by Noa Landau. Article shows clearly that the Zionist regime planned on using American Congresswoman Tlaib for a dog and pony show. She has come back swinging. Calls on Americans, “to reevaluate our unwavering support” for Israel.

08.16.2019 Israel presented Tlaib with a cruel dilemma: her principles or her family Haaretz by Noa Landau. The Israelis wanted to require Tlaib to “not promote BDS” and to “respect any restrictions” that Israel might enjoy placing on her trip in the occupied territories. [What that means is, Israel would have portrayed itself as a humanitarian state and, at the same time, it banned Tlaib’s colleague Ilhan Omar so that would have been capitulation and betrayal of solidarity before Tlaib even left the U.S.. In addition, Israel would be able to ban Tlaib from going places on her itinerary, not allow her to film-or censor film, not allow people to travel with her, demand that Israeli spokespeople travel with her—it could mean anything.]
It became clear that Israel intended to use Tlaib for propaganda purposes when the Israelis leaked a letter that they were forcing our Congresswoman to sign as a pre-condition to traveling to the Zionist regime. Tlaib has refused to accept the restrictions and cancelled her trip. Landau points out that by not bowing to Israel, the Israelis can’t use her promise to “respect any restriction” as a precedent for other Palestinians who don’t have the status of American Congress people. Long story short: Netanyahu and Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer tried for a public relations coup, but ended up bringing BDS into millions of American living rooms while exposing themselves and their country as petty, mean, and insecure.

08.16.2019 Banning Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib will turn American Jews against Israel JTA by Samuel Heilman (in Jerusalem). Hits Israel supporters where they might get it. It all comes down to how things will affect Israel. Good piece except, like nearly all the other stories on this in the American press this week, it ignores the elephant in the room that 72 members of congress (41 democrats, 31 republicans) were in Israel LAST WEEK.

08.16.2019 Israel blocking 2 US Muslim congresswomen from entering the ocuntry is a huge show of weakness that will probably backfire Business Insider by John Haltiwagner. 08.16.2019 Israel blocking 2 US Muslim congresswomen from entering the country is a huge show of weakness that will probably backfire. Business Insider by John Haltiwagner. First line: ‘Israel’s decision to block two US lawmakers from visiting reveals how fragile its government is and how desperate Benjamin Netanyahu has become.’ [It’s got the same flavor as all the other articles about this but it’s interesting to see it in a American business journal.]

08.18.2019 A Bedouin family got evicted by Israel, then their baby died Haaretz by Amira Hass. Earlier this week a Jewish colonist showed up at the Ka’abneh family’s tents and told them to take their flocks and get out. The family was staying at their traditional summer grazing spot but, twice before, in May and June of this year, Israel destroyed their tents and sheep pens. So, even though the summer heat was 110 degrees, they packed up and moved.
The family was moving with women and children in a cart pulled by the father-in-law’s tractor. The cart overturned, injuring everybody. A 24-year-old mother is in a coma. She doesn’t know yet that her 2-month-old baby is dead.
Article notes that previously the family had put everything they had into a home that Israel destroyed two years ago.

08.18.2019 Tlaib suggests boycotting Maher show after he calls anti-Israel boycott movement ‘bull—- purity test.’ The Hill by Justin Wise. Storm and fury towards Congresswoman Tlaib when all she did was reply to journalist/interviewer Mehdi Hasan’s tweet on Maher, Hasan wrote, “Maher rails against BDS, Palestinians, and Omar/Tlaib with an all-white panel featuring no Palestinian, no Arabs, no Muslims, no people of colour. “Liberal” Maher. To which the Congresswoman replied, “maybe folks should boycott his show. I am tired of folks discrediting a form of speech that is centered on equality and freedom. This is exactly how they tried to discredit and stop the boycott and stand up against the apartheid in S. Africa. It didn’t work then & it won’t now.”

08.18.2019 ‘Deeply disturbing’: Rashida Tlaib condemned by World Jewish Congress for suggesting Bill Maher boycott Newsweek by Christina Zhao. Zionist bigot Bill Maher attacked Tlaib. She said maybe people should boycott Bill Maher’s show. I had no idea BM was sill on the air. How ‘bout that? AS to the World Jewish Congress, did they champion free speech and call out New York’s Governor Cumo in 2016 for his Washington Post headline, “If you boycott Israel, New York state will boycott you”?

08.19.2019 Untamed Israeli soldier tells truth, his commanders rush to deny it Haaretz by Amira Hass. Jewish soldiers chase Arab shepherds away, or leave them sitting blindfolded for hours, or other harassment to make them go away.

08.20.2019 Jordan lawmakers call for expulsion of Israel’s ambassador IMEMC. Because of Israel’s latest provocations at al Aqsa mosque (eg. August 11th Jewish occupation troops gassing worshippers, firing stun grenades during the Muslim religious holiday, ‘Feast of Sacrifice’ wounding six people, then opening the place to 1,700 Jewish zealots), Jordan is fed up. Jordan, by international agreements signed by Israel is supposed to oversee the mosque—held an emergency meeting of Parliament to determine the kingdom’s response. Recommendations include: ‘expelling the ambassador of the Zionist entity in Aman, recalling Jordan’s ambassador to Israel, closing the Israeli embassy,’ and other measures.

08.20.2019 Trump says Jews who vote for democrats show ignorance, disloyalty Wall Street Journal by Alex Leary.

08.20.2019 US Jew refused to divorce his wife, so Israel refused to bury his mother Haaretz by Aaron Rabinowitz. You can’t make this up type of story. [Background: under Jewish rabbinical law, a man has to agree to divorce his wife before she can legally separate from him. This agreement is called a ‘get.’ Until the separated woman gets a get she is in a limbo status called agunah—eg. chained, to her husband. It’s an issue with Jews because if a woman has children in this status, any children she may have outside the marriage are called mamzerut—bastards/untouchables. Not only them but all their decedents forever.]

In this case Meir Kim, an American Jew, has refused to divorce his wife for the past fifteen (!) years AND he remarried five years ago in the United States. [So, he’s a bigamist which is illegal here.] Enter Israel’s Chief Rabbi David Lau. Lau has ruled that Israel won’t bury the guy’s deceased mother (who supported his not divorcing his first wife) until he agrees to give his wife the get.

Wednesday
08.21.2019 Trump promotes claim that he is ‘King of Israel’ as Jewish people tweet #disloyal to Trump. USA Today by Jeanine Santucci. A misleading headline. President D. Trump thanked Jewish-born Trump supporter Wayne Root for his NewsMax comments, where Root wrote, “President Trump is the greatest President for Jews and for Israel in the history of the world…Jewish people in Israel love him…like he’s the King of Israel. They love him like he’s the second coming of God.” Trump thanked Root for his comments, [and took the occasion to say people should be loyal to Israel instead of their own elected officials like congresswomen Tlaib and Omar.] What he said was, “But I would not cut off aid to Israel and I can’t even believe that we’re having this conversation. Five years ago the concept of even talking about this, even three years ago, of cutting off aid to Israel because of two people that hate Israel, and hate Jewish people. I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation. Where has the democratic party gone? Where have they gone? Where they’re defending these two people over the state of Israel? And I think any Jewish people that vote for a democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”

08.21.2019 Trump stands by anti-Semitic trope that sparked anger among Jewish Americans The Guardian by Ed Pilkington and Edward Helmore. Trump told Jews, “If you vote for a democrat, you’re being disloyal to Jewish people, and you’re being very disloyal to Israel. Article notes that Trump struck a similar note in Las Vegas last April. Speaking to the Republican Jewish Coalition, he called Netanyahu, “Your Prime Minister.” RJC didn’t complain at the time but some Jews complained later lest they be accused of ‘dual loyalty.’

08.21.2019 Trump makes it clear he meant Jews voting democrat are ‘Disloyal to Israel’ Haaretz. Wanting no ambiguity, America’s 45th president has clarified to reporters that, when he said American Jews who vote for democrats show ‘either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty,’ he didn’t mean disloyalty to him or America, he meant disloyalty to Israel. His exact words were: “You’re being disloyal to Jewish people and you’re being very disloyal to Israel.”

08.21.2019 After Trump ‘disloyalty’ remark, Israeli president tells Pelosi Israel must not become partisan issue Haaretz by Amir Tibon. There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Another Israeli politician giving American ‘leaders’ their marching orders. Israeli President Rivlin told Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, “We must keep the state of Israel above political disputes and make every effort to ensure that support for Israel does not become a political issue.”
